Deployment.

Today we sent Brett, Casey, and Cabe off to Iraq.
I thought I had prepared myself mentally, but it was a lot harder than I ever could have imagined.
We all tried to make ourselves feel better by comparing it to sending a son off on a mission. We figured if they could do it, so could we. But as my mom pointed out, you don't have to pack a bullet proof vest when you go on a mission.
It really is a scary thing, but we know they will be alright. They have each other and lots of really great guys who've got their back. It is just hard having them gone. It feels so empty.
But however hard it is, we are so proud of them and the service they are giving to this country!

Pretty crazy that Addie won't see these guys again until she is walking...

A two-star general (pretty big deal) stopped by to let Brett know that "they turn into teenagers".
He thought Addie was his.

The Governor stopped by to say a few words.

"God bless you,
God bless the 222,
and God bless America!"

After lots of hug and tears, it was time for the boys to leave. Watching the planes fly off was by far the hardest part.

Brett went first, and Casey and Cabe went next.

We love them and miss them and are already counting down the days until they are back.
