We FINALLY went to the Idaho Potato Museum.
That's right, a museum all about potatoes!
We pass the sign all the time on our way to Idaho Falls, but this time we actually took the plunge.
And we learned so many interesting things.
For instance... Did you know that Bingham county harvests 2 Billion pounds of potatoes a year?
Yup, that is Billion with a B.
Making it the potato capital of the WORLD!
What?? Pretty crazy if you ask me... or Ray.
He mentioned this little statistic about three more times since we left the museum.
We also learned that the little ol' state of Idaho produces 30% of the country's potatoes.
And the area we live in produces half of that thirty percent.
(I live about 20 miles south of the star in the yellow area)
Pretty neat.
But not nearly as cool as what we saw next.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we saw the world's largest potato crisp.
Crisp, not chip. There is a difference, but I can't remember what it was.
Anyways, it was made by the people that make Pringles.
And we can't forget the very large collection of Mr. Potato Heads...
It was kinda fun.
We decided it was good for Addie to get to know her roots.
After all she is an honest to goodness Idaho Spud.
Kinda weird to think that her whole life when people ask where she was born she will say
Pocatello, Idaho.
Yeah, Baby.
Oh, and yes, Ray did try to eat the giant potato.
Attractive, right?
I sure thought so....

Holy crap that crisp is huuuuuuge
